Miniature Travel Planetarium. A complete model of our solar system

Een compleet model van ons zonnestelsel in een bijpassende blikken opbergdoos. Op de uitschuifbare armpjes zijn de zon en de planeten Mercurius, Venus, Aarde, Mars, Jupiter, Saturnus, Uranus en hun manen bevestigd. Een planetarium is een model of installatie die de bewegingen van de planeten rond de zon laat zien volgens hun werkelijke banen en snelheden.
Dit miniatuur planetarium werd in de 19e eeuw gebruikt voor educatieve doeleinden. Er is slechts 1 ander exemplaar bekend, in het Eise Eisinga Planetarium te Franeker.

A planetarium is a model or installation that shows the movements of the planets around the sun according to their actual orbits and speeds. The tin contains a complete model of our solar system. The sun and the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus, along with some of their moons, are attached to the extendable arms.
This miniature planetarium was used for educational purposes in the 19th century.
Only one other example is known to exist, in the Eise Eisinga Planetarium in Franeker.
