157 p. Contemporary half Leather, 8° (Rare Batavia-edition of selected Psalms and Hymns, translated from the Dutch into Malaysian language by Reynt le Bruyn (1799-1829). Le Bruyn was a Dutch missionary and teacher stationed at Koepang from 1819 until his early passing in 1829. He was sent to serve at Java by the Dutch association of missionaries and posted at Timor by the Governor-General of the Dutch East-Indies. There he laboured with great result and married into the royal family of Amfvang whom were converted to Christianity. Here the second edition of his translation of evangelical hymns and psalms, each verse set to music and printed in romanized letters with diacritic characters.)
