2 works in one volume, quarto (197 x 150mm). Titles printed in red and black, additional engraved titles, and 48 engraved plates, 24 in each work numbered 2-25, all coloured by a contemporary hand, of mining occupations, activities, and costumes, most signed by C. Weigel. The 4-leaf preface that was published as part of the second work is erroneously bound at the beginning of the first work, with occasional spotting, some light browning, and soiling. Contemporary sprinkled calf, remains of green silk ties, red sprinkled edges.
Literature: Brunet Supp. II, 941 cites an edition of c.1710, identical except for the absence of a date, but no copy seems to exist. Colas 13-14; Hoover 868-869; Lipperheide Pd 7 and Pd 8; Bobins V, 1522. Provenance: Graf Pötting (contemporary ink inscription on pastedown). Hoover suggests that the additional engraved frontispieces may be from an earlier, 1710 edition, but Colas calls for them here. In fact, the existence of an earlier edition is questionable.
