Decorative marbled calf with rich spine gilt and gilt cover border of a wide fillet and several individual stamps, as well as gilt edges and handsome colored paper endpapers. Front cover with gold-stamped owner’s monogram “I.M.” and date “1802” in oval wreath. In original leather slipcase with colored paper lining. Beautiful prayer book printed and illustrated in a generous type in a particularly beautiful binding. The style exemplifies the transition from Rococo to Classicism. The book block is very clean, spine at the top with a small lack, the cover centers minimally rubbed, the slipcase slightly rubbed, and one edge with a small chipping. Overall very good condition.
