320 (3) Contemporary embroidered binding, 12°. Charming 18th-century embroidered binding made of ivory silk over cardboard. Multi-coloured embroidery, partly executed with silver and gold fine wire and with brass sequins and coloured metal foils. Gold edges. Red silk endpapers. The covers are surrounded by a two-part multi-coloured border, partly interwoven with silver wire, in the corners stylized branches of golden wire and sequins, and in the center a two-coloured embroidered bouquet with flowers of silver wire and coloured metal foils. Back with a double curved two-tone border, partly covered with gold wire. (Edges somewhat scuffed, silk partially brittle at the front joint.)
